Creating a custom dynamic postage stamp
Learn how to create your own custom dynamic postage stamp using Acrobat 8.
I'm often asked how to create a custom dynamic stamp past users who take noticed the dynamic stamp capability in Adobe Acrobat software. This tip reviews how to produce your own.
Annotation: Dynamic Stamps were get-go added in Acrobat 6. The instructions hither are specifically for Acrobat 8, but most of the instructions are the aforementioned for earlier versions of Acrobat.

A dynamic postage stamp consists of the image of the stamp and a Text Form Field with JavaScript that creates the dynamic information (Effigy 2).

Your dynamic stamp can exist stored in one of 2 locations for Acrobat viii in Windows:
- [install directory]\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\[linguistic communication] (run across Figure iii)
- [user directory]\Application Information\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\Stamps

- For Acrobat 6, look in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\ENU
- For Acrobat seven, wait in C:\Plan Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\ENU
- On Mac Os Ten, search for "Acrobat User Information" and and so drill down to the Stamps folder.
Steps to creating your own stamp
Stride 1
Cull Comments > Comments & Markup Tools > Stamps > Create Custom Postage.
Step 2
Select the file you desire to exist your custom postage. The stamp tin can be in many file formats, including PDF, a graphic (*.tif, *.bmp, *.gif, *.jpg, *.png, *.pcx), a native Microsoft Role document (*.doc, *.xls, *.ppt), an AutoCAD® drawing, or an HTML page. To run into all the possible formats you accept bachelor - select File > Create PDF > From File and bank check the Files of Type drop-downwards list.

Create or choose a category and name your stamp. (See Figure 4).

When you select OK, your postage stamp is automatically created in the Awarding Information directory (c:\Documents and Settings\login name\Application Information\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\Stamps). The actual name of the PDF stamp created will be generated by Acrobat. In this example, the file proper noun is mkWXAu6ok-vDmYeXdpd4EB.pdf. (Notation: you can rename this file if yous want.) To determine which stamp is the ane yous but created, sort the stamps past date modified. The newest postage stamp is yours.
Footstep 4
Open up Dynamic.pdf in the Acrobat eight\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\[language] folder and plow to the page containing the automatically-generated text yous want, such as Revised on page one.
Step 5
Choose the Text Field tool from Tools > Forms > Text Field tool. Select the text field on the stamp and copy it.

Open the PDF file containing your custom stamp and paste the text form field, which includes the JavaScript to brandish the dynamic information.
Stride 7
Salve the PDF file. You now have a dynamic custom stamp.
